About our Markham junk car business

The cars we buy, and the ones we don't

We buy vehicles at the end of their road life. That covers a car that failed emissions, a van with a dead transmission, a truck that has sat under leaves for three winters, or a sedan the insurer let you keep after a crash. We aren't the buyer for a good running car you could sell to someone who'll drive it. If yours runs well and is fairly new, a used-car buyer will likely pay you more, and we'll say so.

How a sale works with us

1. You describe the car through the form or by phone.
2. We call with an offer and go through your papers.
3. If you take it, we set a pickup time. Same-day pickup is often possible.
4. We bring our tow truck to the car, load it free and pay you at pickup.

That's the whole process. Pickups are arranged by phone. The Crawford Avenue address is our base, and our own tow truck comes to your car. S & H is registered in Illinois as a corporation; that's the Corp. in our name.

Why the site reads the way it does

Most questions we get aren't about price. They're about paperwork: a lost title, a loan that isn't quite paid off, a parent's car in the garage, a notice from the village about a car that won't move. So a large part of this site is guides on Illinois rules. Every rule we state links to the official page we read it on, usually the Illinois General Assembly's statute pages or the Secretary of State. Where a rule is complicated, we say so and suggest asking the state or a lawyer.

The local pages work the same way. Each town page was written from that town's own code, maps and public sources, so it tells you something about picking up a car there rather than repeating the same paragraph with a new name.
