What happens from the first call to the truck pulling away

You describe the car. Year, make, model, whether there’s a title, and where it’s parked. The form above asks for exactly that. A phone call works the same way.
We make an offer. It’s based on the car itself (see how offers are set). If you take it, we set a pickup time.
The truck comes to the car. The tow truck loads it from where it sits. You don’t need to move it to the curb.
You sign and get paid. You sign the title over (or we go through the papers you do have), hand over keys if there are any, and you’re paid in cash, Zelle or Cash App before the car leaves.

Pickup spots that need a word ahead of time

Most pickups are a driveway or the street in front of the house. A few spots go smoother with a heads-up:

Repair shops. If the car has been sitting at a mechanic after a bad diagnosis, tell the shop it’s being collected and settle any bill first. Shops often hold keys and won’t release a car with money owing.
Apartment and condo lots. Many south suburban complexes have assigned spaces and posted towing rules. Let the manager know the truck is authorized so nobody calls it in.
Back yards and side lots. Tell us about soft ground, gates and how close a truck can get. A car that has sat on flat tires for a year can usually still be loaded, but the driver needs to know what to expect.

What to have ready at pickup

The Illinois title, if you have it, left unsigned until the driver is there. If it’s lost, read how to replace a lost Illinois title or tell us what papers you do have.
A driver’s license or state ID.
Keys, if they exist. Missing keys don’t stop a sale.
Your license plates. In Illinois the plates belong to you, not the car, so take them off before the truck leaves. What happens after you sell covers the plates and the Seller’s Report of Sale.
