Cash for junk motorcycles
Do you buy junk motorcycles?
Yes. S & H Cash for Junk Cars Corp. buys junk, wrecked and non-running motorcycles from Markham and the nearby south suburbs, whether the bike crashed, sat for years or won't start. We pick it up free from your garage, shed or yard, and you're paid at pickup in cash, Zelle or Cash App.

Motorcycles end up as junk for different reasons than cars. A bike gets parked for the winter and never comes back out. A crash bends the forks or the frame and the repair costs more than the bike. Or a project stalls with half the parts in boxes. Whatever the story, a motorcycle that won’t be ridden again is something we buy.
What to have ready
- The title. Illinois requires every owner of a motorcycle bought new on or after January 1, 1980 to apply for a certificate of title (625 ILCS 5/3-101), and off-road bikes get a title too, even though they aren’t registered. A scrap buyer has to see an ownership document before buying (625 ILCS 5/5-401.3). If it’s lost and you’re the owner of record, our guide to replacing a lost Illinois title covers the duplicate.
- Two IDs. One has to be a driver’s license or a state ID card.
- The key, if you have it. It helps the driver unlock the steering and move the bike, but it isn’t required. See selling with no keys.
- A lien release if the bike was financed and the lender is still on the title.
Plates come off before the pickup and stay with you.
Where bikes sit, and why it matters
A junk motorcycle is more often stored than parked: a garage corner behind the lawn mower, a backyard shed, a covered patio or a storage unit. Before pickup, tell us:
| Tell us | Why |
|---|---|
| How it’s stored | A bike in the back of a packed garage needs a clear path out. |
| Whether the tires hold air | Flat or rotted tires make it harder to roll. |
| If it’s on a stand or lying down | A bike on its side is loaded differently. |
| If parts are loose or in boxes | We price what’s actually going with it. |
| Steps, gates or a narrow shed door | So the pickup isn’t a surprise. |
A storage facility or an apartment complex usually needs to know a tow is coming. Clear it with the manager first.
How a motorcycle is priced
A bike carries far less metal than a car, so its value leans more on what’s still usable: the engine, wheels, forks, tank and electrics. A complete bike with a seized engine can still be worth more than a stripped frame. As with every vehicle we buy, the number comes from the bike in front of us, and how offers are set explains the factors.
Bikes we buy
Street bikes, cruisers, touring bikes, sport bikes and older standards, whatever the make. Our makes page lists the common ones. We pick up from towns including Oak Forest, Homewood and Country Club Hills, plus the rest of our service areas.

Questions about this
- My motorcycle has no title. Can I still sell it?
- Possibly. A motorcycle is a titled vehicle in Illinois, so a scrap buyer needs the title or another ownership document, the same as for a car. Tell us what you have and we'll say on the call whether it works. If you're the owner on record, a duplicate title is often the quickest fix.
- The bike has been in pieces for years. Do you still want it?
- Yes, if the frame and most of the bike are there. Tell us what's on it and what's in boxes, and the offer reflects what we're actually taking.
- Can you take a motorcycle and a car on the same pickup?
- Yes, a single pickup can include several vehicles. Describe each one when you call so we bring the right tow.
- What do I do with the motorcycle plate?
- Take it off before pickup. In Illinois plates belong to the owner, not the vehicle, so the plate stays with you.
